character development

Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School develops students’ character through our Core Values of Scholarship, Merit, Sisterhood, and Responsibility. We also help students develop non-cognitive strengths such as resilience, determination, self-control, perseverance, gratitude, empathy, and optimism.

We celebrate students character development and demonstration of our Core Values at our Unity Meetings, which are school-wide celebrations. Our Unity Meetings always end with the Girls Prep Cheer. Here are our scholars singing the Girls Prep Cheer with Elmo:

Namesakes

Each classroom in the Public Prep Network is named after an inspirational man or woman. These classroom “Namesakes” are selected as outstanding individuals of achievement whom students can identify with, look up to, and study.

Our Namesakes wear many hats; many are known for accomplishments across sectors.  Click here to learn more about our Namesakes
